Her art work spans a broad spectrum of styles from detailed marine life illustration done from specimens to more expressive water media collages. Her illustrations have been included in the Guild of Natural Science Illustrators national juried shows in Iowa and Washington State. Included in two exhibits at The Cape Cod Museum of Natural History and numerous local and regional venues, Maure continues to expand her audience.  Her work has exhibited at the Cordova Historical Museum, Alaska and Gallery North on the Square, Indiana in national juried shows.

Her art studies began at the Museum School in Boston, continuing at the De Young Museum, San Francisco; Cape Cod Conservatory, Truro Center for the Arts at Castle Hill, Creative Arts Center in Chatham and the Cape Cod Museum of Art. She also holds a B. S. in Human Services from Lesley University. Through intensive workshops and courses with Cape Cod’s illustrious artists, Maure’s aesthetic style grows like the Cape’s perennial sea lavender.

Her style evolves as she embraces her role as an interpreter of our natural surroundings. She is inspired by the vitality, energy and the inherent beauty of the Cape’s fish, flora and fauna. Through the use of vibrant color, bold strokes, movement and natural materials Maure expresses her love of our unique environment and its wild inhabitants.

As an artisan, I believe the hands and heart express what the mind only knows. Maure
